COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
GRID, PAINT ROLLER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description, for all federal agencies.
1. Scope. This commercial item description covers a grid in the form of a metal screen used in 20 L (5 gallon) pail of paint to allow of paint and rolling off excess paint.
2. Salient characteristics:
2.1 The bucket grid shall be made of expanded metal with openings of 19 +/- 6mm (3/4 +/- 1/4 inch), with edge supports. The metal grid shall be constructed of corrosion resistant metal or made corrosion resistant by electro-plating.
2.2 The grid shall be designed for hooking on the rim of a paint pail at an angle suitable for loading and spreading paint on a paint roller, and removing excess paint roller. The grid shall clear the bottom and edge of the pail sufficiently to allow the paint roller to be freely rotated around the entire bottom of the pail.
2.3 The grid shall be suitable for use with 23 cm (9-inch) paint rollers and shall not buckle in normal use.
3. Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
4. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
5.Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided under the provisions of the contract.
